The funeral for Rachel W. Ware, 84, formerly of 179 Main St., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Memorial Home with the Rev. Beth Benham, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Norfolk. Mrs. Ware died Saturday at St. Regis Nursing Home. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Memorial Home. She was a homemaker. Born Aug. 3, 1917, in Braxton County, W.Va., daughter of Charles and Deborah Lytle Williston, she married Russell Ware in 1937 in Braxton City, W.Va. He died in 1957. Surviving are a son, Charles, Chicago, Ill.; six daughters, Mrs. Midge (Margaret) Cecot, Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Joseph (Geraldine) Wilson, Bedford, Ind., Audrey “Jean” Jones, Judy Murray and Mrs. Stephen (Terrie) Flynn, all of Massena, and Mrs. David (Brenda) Besio, Port Lavaca, Texas; a sister, Mary Lee Lewis, Terra Alta, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. A son, Roger Lee, died as an infant.
