Alta L. “Peg” Ware, formerly of 1114 Richmond Ave., died at 6:50 a.m. June 2, 2014, at Vista Woods Care Center. She was born August 15, 1920, in Belnap, Iowa, to Clarence and Alice Hunt Munn. She married Russell Ware. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1971. She was a 38-year member of O.B. Nelson Unit #3 American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are three sons, Bill Ware of Monmouth, Illinois, Rick (Sandy) Ware of Amarillo, Texas, Randy (Lisa) Ware of Palos Verdes, California, and Roger (Rhonda) Ware of Ottumwa; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Ware of Carroll, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Duden of Ottumwa; She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Ware and Charles Ware; a great-granddaughter; a daughter-in-law, Judy Ware; three brothers, Elmer Munn, Basil “Pete” Munn and Tommy Munn; three sisters, Laura Jackson, Imogene Donnelly and Audrey Blew. Private graveside services and burial will be held at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Iowa Chapter, 2600 72nd St. Suite D Urbandale, Iowa 50322 or Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, Iowa 52501. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
