Gloria Merlynn Ware, 89, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at her residence. Born Dec. 29, 1922, in Lapile, she was the daughter of James H. and Pearl Cobb McKinney. She was a member of Hillsboro Street Church of Christ, also a member of the Pink Lady Auxilliary at Medical Center of South Arkansas. She had been a volunteer at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home for over 30 years, and was a teacher at Lad and Lass Kindergarten. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harry L. Ware; brother, James Wilbur McKinney; and one sister, Opal M. Poe. Survivors include son, Harry L. Ware, Jr. of Springdale; daughter, Ann Ware of Searcy; three sisters, Janeece Parker of Calion, Lillie Faye Beckwith and her husband, Kenneth, of Bryant and Lettie Sue McKinney of El Dorado; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at Hillsboro Street Church of Christ with Bro. Harry L. Ware, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
