Gordon Dean Ware Sr., 66, of 2820 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Habit, was an Army veteran and graduated from Owensboro High School and Western Kentucky University. He was a football coach at Owensboro Catholic High School from 1956 to 1958 and retired as a supervisor from Medley’s Distillery after 31 years. He was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church in Owensboro and was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Diane Sanders Ware; a son, Gordon Dean Ware II of Bradenton, Fla.; two daughters, Stephanie Ware and Shannon Ware, both of Owensboro; two grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Foster of Owensboro. Services are at 12:30 p.m. today at Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to noon today at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro.
