Joseph Ellis Ware, 70, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Professional Care Nursing Home in Hartford. Born in Owensboro on Jan. 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Onis and Julia May Ridgway Ware, a member of Third Baptist Church and had worked as a tool dresser in the oil fields. Mr. Ware was a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class at Third Baptist and had also served as an usher and worked in the kitchen. He was an avid UK sports fan. Surviving are several cousins and friends at Professional Care in Hartford and at Third Baptist Church. Services are at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with Dr. James K. Byrd officiating, followed by burial in Greenbrier Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after noon on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church.
