Ware, Belinda Sue Barnhart, 59, devoted wife, housewife, grandmother, and active dog competitor, passed away to be with the Lord on October 11, 2010. Belinda was born in Sterling, Illinois, grew up in Goddard, KS, and graduated from Goddard High School in 1969. Belinda turned her life to Jesus and had a faith of great measure which guided her throughout life. She began her career out of high school as a veterinarian assistant in Wichita, KS. She married John Coleman Hafner Ware on May 26, 1973 in Wichita, KS. John graduated from Wichita State University, and they were stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. Belinda was a devoted wife throughout his Air Force career with assignments in Ohio and Washington, DC. Their civilian career took them from Maryland to Florida to Alabama, Texas, then back to Wichita, KS in 2008. Blessed mother of two, Mickey Renee Elizabeth was born November 3, 1973, and John Robert Michael was born June 29, 1981. She was joyful with both of her children, their marriages, and with her two beautiful grandchildren. Her own lifelong passion for life was for animals and especially her dogs, and for the dog sports of agility competition and flyball racing. Throughout her life, she was an active volunteer with the dog clubs she belonged to in San Antonio, TX and Wichita, KS. Perhaps the highlight to her careerwas that she was the Team Captain in competition at the National 2010 CanAm Flyball Championships when she passed. While in San Antonio, she volunteered thousands of hours in Disaster Service and in 1997, Belinda was the recipient of the Volunteer Family of the Year Award from United Way for her outstanding Red Cross service. Belinda loved her family and friends immensely. She would do anything for them and was willing to stop whatever she was doing at any given moment in order to help them. Belinda set the example of what a self-less, loving. and caring wife, mother, and friend should be like. Her presence in a room would bring comfort and a calmness that could be felt by all. She was fearless in her endeavors, and always spoke of the positives that could be garnered from any negative situation. Her life is a testament to God’s love and strength. This world and our lives will never be the same without her. Belinda, you are loved deeply and will be missed. She is survived by her husband, John C. H. Ware, Lt Col, USAF Ret, daughter Mickey R. E. Barkett of Orlando, FL, son Captain John R. M Ware, Bangkok, Thailand, father Earl D. Barnhart, Goddard, KS, brother Philip G. Barnhart, Wichita, KS, grandchildren Morgan and Coleman Barkett, and best friends, her dogs and A memorial service will be held at Heritage Baptist Church, 13500 W 13th St North, in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM.
