BYKONEN, ELAINE WARE, 72 – of Gloucester, VA, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, August 14, 2006 in Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Clifford and Elsie Mixner. She was a very spiritual person with a deep love of her Lord which she showed by her dedication as a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church in Gloucester where she taught Sunday School and was active in other committees of the church. She has also been a member of Seaview Baptist Church in Linwood and supported the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and the Baptist Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, one brother and former husband, Dr. Charles I. Ware.
She is survived by her husband James A. Bykonen; son Joe Brett & his wife Kathy; step-daughter Marie Prochnow & her husband Douglas; step-son Arthur Bykonen & his wife Mary Elizabeth; sister Carol Jobes & her husband Wilmot; grandchildren Kevin, Kathryn, Amanda and Matthew.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 11a.m. in Bellamy United Methodist Church by Reverend Steve Vineyard. Memorial donations may be made to Bellamy United Methodist Church Memorial Fun in the name of Elaine, 4870 Chestnut Fork Road, Gloucester VA 23061.
