Ethel Ware Markins, a retired clerk for the city of New Orleans, died Saturday at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 81. Mrs. Markins was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie. She was a member of the Doll Artists of Louisiana. Survivors include two sons, David Walsdorf III and Augustus G. Markins III; three daughters, Ethel Freeman, Jean Palazzotto and Patricia Bridges; three sisters, Edith Farrell, Althea Soloman and Lorraine Webb; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
