Harold Ware Obituary

New London- Harold J. Ware of Old Lyme died at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital on April 6, 2015 of complications from diabetes. He retired from the Naval Underwater Systems Center after 30 years. He also served 4 years in the US Navy.

Mr. Ware always enjoyed lunch on Fridays with his lab friends. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, and loved to play cards. He also enjoyed traveling all over the world for work testing sonar equipment. He also volunteered for the visiting nurses and did taxes for the senior center.

Mr. Ware was born on October 6, 1935 to Joseph and Mary Ware in Pawtucket, RI. He is survived by his wife, Rose A. Ware, his sister-in-laws Veronica Ware, Jane Sugarman, Lorna Garneau, nephews David Garneau, Michael Sugarman, Gregory Ware, Christopher Ware, John McGrath, Robert McGrath, William McGrath, nieces Justine Ware Hrynick, Dawn Miron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 in Christ the King Church, Old Lyme, at 11:00 AM. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme. A procession will assemble at the funeral home following the Mass at 2:00 PM for the burial at the CT Veteran’s Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
