Atlanta, GA- On December 23, 2015, James E. (Jim) Ware, Jr. died peacefully with family at his side. Jim was born on June 29, 1944 to Ed Ware and Betty Mitchell Ware. He grew up in Columbus, Georgia and attended Columbus High School, where he was captain of the varsity football team his senior year.
Jim attended the University of Georgia where he graduated cum laude with a BBA degree and went on to earn his MBA in Economics. He became a Professor of Banking and Finance at Georgia Southwestern State University, and was the youngest President of the Georgia Banking Commission. Jim served our country in the National Guard, and for the past 43 years, he was a highly-respected and greatly-beloved Real Estate Broker, most recently with Dorsey Alston, Realtors, as a Senior Vice President. He was previously named Realtor of the Year by the Atlanta Board of Realtors and served as their President.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jeanne, his sister, Angeline, his brother, David, his daughters, Kathy and Mary, his sons, Trey and Al, and his four grandchildren, Annie, Katie, Ellie and Billy.
Jim lived a wonderful Christian life. His example, and his caring and giving presence changed the lives of many. From the beginning of his brief illness until he passed, he was surrounded by his wife, children and his grandchildren, who kept him happy and loved.
Services for Jim will be held in the Chapel at Roswell United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Roswell Funeral Home.
