LITTLEFIELD – Kenneth Judson Ware, 85, of Littlefield passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, in Amherst. He was born July 18, 1928, in Hollis, Okla., to Jim and Nettie Ware. After graduation, Kenneth proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, entering in 1951 and serving during the Korean Conflict. Once he was discharged, he returned to Littlefield, and on April 15, 1952, in Sudan, Texas, he married his sweetheart, Faye West. Kenneth managed Ware’s Department store in Littlefield for 40 years before selling the business in 1992 to Dunlap’s. He was on the board of directors at First Federal Bank for over 50 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in Mexico, spending time in Ruidoso, and drinking coffee with his regular coffee drinking group. Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Littlefield. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Ware of Littlefield; grandsons, Jonathan Damrich, Dax Damrich, and Geoffrey Damrich; and a brother, James Ware of Kerrville, Texas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Damrich, in July of this year. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Littlefield with Rev. Gary Boles officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Rogers, Jim Jones, Jim Ratliff, Garvin Knox, Bob Roden, Leroy Maxfield, Nolan Greek, and Max Dresher. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
