Larry Alexander Ware Obituary, 2015

GASTONIA – Larry Alexander Ware, 71, passed away May 29, 2015, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Greenville, S.C., son of the late Carl Alexander and Lela Lewis Ware.

Larry was a Veteran of the United Sates Army and retired from Gaston County Schools as an elementary school teacher. He was a charter member of Agape Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of Gas-ton County Extension Master Gardeners, Gaston County Historical Society, and life member of the Schielle Museum. Mr. Ware gave the Larry A. Ware Catawba Indian Pottery Collection to the museum. He was a member of the Historic Hoyle Homplace, Gaston County Museum, and Broad River Genealogical Society.

His survivors include his sisters, and brother-in-law, Susan Phillips (David), Kathy Goforth; nephews, Steven Tessener and John Phillips; great nephew, Nicholas Tessener.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service.

Interment is private.
