Miriam Joyce “Sis” Ware, 92, of Hess, passed away at her residence, Friday morning, April 25, 2014.

Mrs. Ware was born on the family farm, south of Hess, on Dec. 15, 1921, to William Jesse and Maggie Mae (Gillis) Ware. Growing up on the farm, she attended Hess School and worked on the farm most of her life pulling bolls and picking cotton. For a short time, Miriam also worked at Jones Grocery Store in Hess.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lelia Ware and Marie Dollins; four brothers, Nathan (Dob) Ware, Luther D. (Lit) Ware, Buddy Ware and Alvin Ware; and her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Ware.

She is survived by one son, Elton (Pitt) Ware of Hess; two grandchildren, Todd Ware and wife Tonya of Altus, and Michelle Ware of Oklahoma City; two great-granddaughters, Destiny Ware and Emelie Ware; along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
