Teresa Ware Obituary
Teresa Helen Ware died March 25, 2010, at age 78 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She is survived by her husband Alan, daughter Helen, and sons Paul, Jonathan, and Andrew, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. “She is also survived by her sister Margaret”.
Teresa was born in London, England and married Alan in London in 1952. Alan and Teresa, Helen, Paul, and Jonathan, together with Teresa’s mother Margaret emigrated from England to the United States in 1965 and settled in California. Andrew was born in Oakland. The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1969. Teresa was always very active in the Catholic Church. In England, after six years as a Legionary of Mary, she was a volunteer with the Catholic Marriage Advisory Council. In Austin, at the request of Bishop McCarthy she founded the prolife organization Lifeline, which counsels and assists pregnant girls
and women. She was the director of Lifeline for about 25 years until Lifeline merged with and became part of Marywood. She was a lector at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church for about 30 years. Rosary will be held on Monday March 29, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar in Austin. Mass will be said on Tuesday March 30, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, Texas 78731.
