Walter Ware Obituary, 2010

KINGS MOUNTAIN – Mr. Walter Ware, 83, of 105 Wright Road, passed away April 16, 2010 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.
He was born in Cleveland County to the late Frank C. and Pearl Lovelace Ware.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ware was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Ware and a sister, Virginia Stone.
A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, he served as deacon and former Sunday school superintendent. A retired manager for Winn-Dixie after 47 years of service, he also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family very much.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Melba Costner Ware, of Kings Mountain; daughters, Amy Ware Pearson and husband, Tim, of Kings Mountain and Kathy Ware Greene, of Shelby; brothers, Buford Ware and wife, Stella, of Kings Mountain, Jack Ware, of Shelby, and the late Peggy Ware, of Shelby, Mike Ware and wife, Shirley, of Kings Mountain, and Bob Ware and wife, Betty, of Kings Mountain; sisters, Polly Phifer and the late Menzell Phifer, of Kings Mountain, Annette Webster and hus-band, Bob, of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Joe Hamrick, Kyle Hamrick, Lacey Pearson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Sunday, April 18, 3 p.m., Oak Grove Baptist Church
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial: Monday, April 19, 10 a.m., Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
