William R. WARE Obituary

The amazing life journey of William R. Ware, age 86 of Hamilton, came to an end on Monday, October 21, 2013. He was born on February 28, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio. William was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He met his loving wife, Wilma, at a local roller skating rink. They were married on June 12, 1944 and for 69 precious years they were never apart from each other. Like many in his generation, he courageously served his country in World War II. He joined the Army in 1945 and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan. Once he returned from the war, William began working at Fisher Body, where he served as writer for the company’s monthly newsletter. He retired from Fisher Body in 1982 after 33 years of commitment and hard work. William and his wife were blessed to have two amazing children, Pat and Sharon. During his life, William achieved many things. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Syrian Temple, Hillbilly Clan #91 of Dayton, Washington Lodge #17, Eastern Star Washington Chapter #195, Scottish Rite 32 Degree, Hamilton High Twelve Club #414, Blue Lodge Mystin Lodge, and a lifetime member of VFW #1069. In his retirement years, William enjoyed traveling; his favorite place was Las Vegas. He loved to be outdoors and loved keeping his yard in perfect condition. He also loved playing horseshoes, as well as telling old stories and jokes with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; his daughter Sharon Foister and dedicated son-in-law, Gene; grandson Jay Foister and his wife Tina; great-grandchildren Caitlin and Corey Foister, who affectionately called him by his nickname, Willie; granddaughter Angela Robinson; a daughter-in-law, Ginger Ware; two step-grandchildren, Matt and Melissa Rucker; two sisters, Ruth Schick and Marge Moore, and a brother, Marion Ware. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Pat Ware; his parents; and a brother, Robert Ware. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. www.browndawsonflick.com
