Betty Lee Ware Jan. 6, 1928 ~ April 26, 2010 Resident of Walnut Creek Betty Ware, a longtime resident of Contra Costa County, formerly of the West County area, died peacefully in her sleep at Manor Care in Walnut Creek. A native of Blackwell, OK, the second child of Sam and Elsie Cox. Betty, upon the family’s move to Richmond in 1944, attended RUHS, graduating in 1945. Betty and Ray Ware were married in 1946 and soon settled in the West County area where they became parents of a son and a daughter. While raising her family, Betty also was employed by Beckman Instruments and was active in Hillcrest Baptist Church. During those years Betty formed several friendships that she cherished throughout her life. Another source of great enjoyment and comfort to Betty was the fellowship within her family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gene Cox, and sister Cleta Brock. Surviving are her loving children Dave (Nancy) Ware, Rayma Ware; grandchildren Kendra (Brad) Martinez, David Carmagnola, Brandon (Lauren) Ware, Natalie (Todd) Robinette; and three great-grandchildren; plus step-grandchildren Traci (Dan) Thompson, Carie (Simon) Read, Jamie Reed; and five step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Gerald (JoAnn) Cox, and many nieces and nephews. The time and commitment given by Marlene Sanders to her Aunt Betty will always be remembered. Memorial Service: Cornerstone Fellowship, 348 N. Canyon Parkway, Livermore at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of the East Bay, 3470 Buskirk Ave., Pleasant Hill.
