Gertrude Gray Ware, 83, of Pinckneyville, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, in Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Pinckneyville, Ill. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville. Funeral arrangements are by Carr-Yager Funeral Home of Fayette, Mo.

She was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Bowling Green, Mo., the daughter of B.C. and Laura Gray. She married Nevins Ware in Bowling Green on Nov. 24, 1946. He preceded her in death May 12, 2007. They were the parents of one son, Bill.

She is survived by her son Bill of Zurich, Ill.; seven sisters: Mary Sires of Roanoke, Mo., Hazel Kerr, Helen Gray and Dorothy Dougherty, all of Fayette; Sarah Wurtz of Fairview Heights, Ill., Gladys Wiesehan of Granite City, Ill., and Nellie Wiesehan of Florrisant, Mo.; and one brother, Richard Gray of Armstrong, Mo.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Memorial contributions are suggested to donor’s choice in care of Carr-Yager Funeral Home, Fayette, Mo.
