Pauline Futral Ware Obituary, 2008

PAULINE FUTRAL WARE, age 81 years, a resident of Huttonsville, WV departed this life Wednesday morning, January 30, 2008 at her home. She had been in declining health.
She was born Monday, June 14, 1926 at Pink Hill, NC a daughter of the late Dennis Futral and Edith Taylor Futral. On October 7, 1944 at Wilmington, DE she was married to John William Ware, who survives. They had celebrated sixty-three years of marriage. Also surviving are two sons, Johnny, Denny Ware and wife Sharon, Bridgeport; Mike Ware and wife Suzanne, Collierville, TN; two daughters, Phyllis Harper and husband Charlie, Elkins; Louise Edgell, Bridgeport; a special adopted daughter, Belinda Toms, Huttonsville; one sister, Glennie Houston, Pink Hill, NC; eight grandchildren, Terry, Duane and Chad Ware; Ronald Hight; LuAnne McClelland; Eric, Sally and Katie Ware; nine great grandchildren, Kyle, Dylan and Cassidy Hight; Ciara, Adam, Brooke and Haley Ware, Amanda McClelland and Karissa Lindsey, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.
Preceding her in death are one grandson, Steven Hight; three brothers, Troy, Lauty and Edmond Futral; and two sisters, Dolly Rainer and Adel Carter.
She attended the schools of Pink Hill, NC, and was a  Rosie the Riveter having welded ships in the Wilmington Ship Yards in Delaware, where she met and married her husband. She also welded bombs in South Charleston, WV during World War II. She was a homemaker, was a volunteer for the Tyrand Parish, where she received the volunteer of the year award in 2000, was a volunteer for the Helping Hand at Philippi, was a volunteer for Hospice in Randolph County, was an avid bowler and was affectionately known as Sarge by many loving friends. She was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 8 PM, Friday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2 PM. The Rev. Dr. Richard Crickard, Pastor Leon Brown and The Rev. Bonnie Starkey will officiate and interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250 or to Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, Route # 1, Box 42, Huttonsville, WV 26273.
