Joan Marie Ware Resident of El Cerrito Joan was born May 5, 1938 in Ada, OK. At the age of 10, she moved to Berkeley, CA and remained a resident of the Bay Area until her death in Richmond on March 5, 2010. An only child, she was baptized at St. Ambrose Church of Berkeley in 1959. Joan graduated from Berkeley High in January of 1957. She then attended UC Berkeley before transferring to Contra Costa College, where she in 1962 graduated from the School of Nursing. Joan worked in the medical field for 40 years, most notably at Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek and Oakland’s Summit Med. Center, where she served in ICU and CCU. Visitation will be Mon., March 15, 4-8pm at Holy Angels, 2540 Church Ln., San Pablo. Funeral will be Tues. the 16th at 11am also at Holy Angels with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
