GREENVILLE – Funeral services for Ralph Gary Ware, 70, of Greenville were at 2 p.m. today at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Feb. 16, 2009, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial was in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

He was born in Darlove where he graduated from Hollandale Public Schools. He was a mechanic for Russell Motor Company before he owned and operated a Sears Retail Store in Rolling Fork from 1978 to 1991, retiring due to ill health. He was a member of Darlove Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard and Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Marcus Ware.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Ware of Greenville; two daughters, Gwen Holcomb (Eddie) of Grace and Carol Hunter (Scott) of Glen Allan; two brothers, Charles Ware Jr. (Susie) of Darlove and Homer Ware of Anza, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

The family received friends today from 1 to 2 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home.
