Gary Vern Ware Obituary, 1988

57, of 1115 1/3 N. Sixth St. died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at his residence.

He was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of William and Frances Swinson Ware. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a barber before his retirement.

Surviving are four sons, Kenneth Ware of Hampton, Va., Larry and Scott Ware, both of Martinsville, Va., and Christopher Ware of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Wanda Clark of Norfolk, Va., and Susan Stanley of Roanoke, Va.; and one brother, James of Lillian, Texas.

Remains were cremated at the Springfield Crematory. Interment was in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

  1. Rest in peace dear brother. I still remember you dressed u like the Easter Bunny when I was young. You deserved so much more from life than you received. I will never forget you Love, your sister Judy Ann ware.
