William E. Ware Obituary, 2002

William E. Ware of Leesburg, Va., formerly of York, died Jan. 4. He was 72.

Mr. Ware retired from Honeywell as a software engineer after 31 years of employment.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a communications officer in the Korean War.

He was a member of the ICS and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and was recognized by the Instrumentation Society of America as a computer control pioneer.

He leaves his wife, Margaret M. Ware; three daughters, Carol Nau, Sharon Hewitt and Denise Landers.; and a son, William E. Ware Jr.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mary I. Klein.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Tappahannock, Va. A memorial Mass is at noon Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2021 K St. NW, Suite 715, Washington, D.C. 20006.

Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg Inc., 201 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
