MRS. MARY ANN STEWART WARE
An aged and venerated mother in Israel has gone to her coronation. After a long and useful life full of service and good deeds closing with a few days of sickness Mrs. Mary A. Ware peacefully passed into the presence of her King Wednesday morning, Feb. 12th, 1908, having passed her 88th year in life’s pilgrimage; and her children rise up and call her blessed.
Mary Ann Stewart was born in Bond county, Illinois, Nov. 6, 1819. Her father brought his family to Putnam county in May, 1832 settling near Florid. There she grew to womanhood and was married to Thomas Ware May 6, 1847. Mr. Ware brought his bride to Granville which has been her home ever since. The husband and four children of this home have preceded her to the eternal land. Four sons and three daughters still live to bless a saintly mother’s memory.
The funeral takes place at the home this afternoon; Rev. J. F. Bissell of Oberlin, Ohio, a former much-loved pastor of the deceased will deliver the funeral address.
He said: “It is time to crown her,
The long, long day is done,
The battle of life is over,
The victory is won.”
That veiled it from her sight
The King called home His daughter
Into its joy and light.
