Funeral services for Earl Ware were Monday, November 16, 2009, in the Occupy # 1 Baptist Church, the Reverends Arthur Maricle, Sherman Busby and David Doyle officiated. Military rites were conducted by Barksdale Air Force Honor Guards. Committal services followed in the Occupy # 1 Cemetery.
Earl, 70, of Lake Charles, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, in M.D. Anderson Medical Center in Houston. He was born on March 19, 1939, in Oakdale to the union of John Ware and Louella Ashworth Ware. Earl was a member of Occupy # 1 Baptist Church, a retiree of the United State Postal Service, a veteran of the United State Air Force and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. He loved writing and published two books. He was a 1958 graduate of Oakdale High School, #44 Oakdale Warrior Star Football player, received recognition in the All Southern, All District and All State Conferences and was offered six scholarships for his remarkable talent, playing both offense and defense. Earl was a member of the American Legion, W. B. Williamson Post # 1.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
His parents; two brothers, Steve Ware and R. L. Ware and one sister, Myrtlee Buxton precedes him in death.
He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years of Lake Charles; two daughters and one son-in-law; two granddaughters; grandson of Lake Charles; two great-grandchildren; brother of Oakdale; sister of Pine Prairie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Services were under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
