Gladys E.F. Ware Janis Obituary, 1998

Gladys E.F. Ware Janis, 91, of Marple, a former secretary, died April 17 at IHS Nursing Care in Marple.

Born in Jacksonville, Fla., she was the daughter of Carroll Forrest Ware and Hattie Tyler. She attended Collingdale School and was a 1925 graduate of Upper Darby High School.

Mrs. Janis resided in Darby before moving to IHS.

During World War II, Mrs. Janis was employed by Westinghouse as a secretary. She also worked for Colonial Mortgage Service Company in Upper Darby as a secretary to the vice president.

She attended Tulley Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McCausland-Bathurst Funeral Home, Chester Pike, Glenolden, where friends may call after 10 a.m.

Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Marple.
