Mary Ware Mueller Obituary, 2006

MARY WARE MUELLER, 1921-2006, grew up in Memphis, lived in Germantown from 1950-1970, and later Collierville. She graduated from Hutchison School, where she was taught by Ms. Hutchison, and graduated from Southwestern College, now Rhodes College, where she was taught by Dr. Rhodes. Mrs. Mueller was an air traffic controller during WWII, sport pilot, equestrian, avid canoeist, water color artist and published author. She was instrumental in the founding of the Germantown Charity Horse Show, Oak Grove Hunt Club, Longreen Foxhounds and the W.T.P.C. She taught at Lausanne School and St. George’s School. Her past memberships include Chi Omega Sorority, The Junior League, The Woman’s Exchange, The King’s Daughters, St. George’s Episcopal Church and board member of the Bishop Otey Center. Mrs. Mueller was currently a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Shelby East Garden Club, Bridge Club, Contemporary Club, and Friends of the Library. She was the wife of Bart Mueller, 91, for 63 years, and the daughter of A. J. V. Ware and Annie Buckingham Ware of Memphis. She leaves her husband, Bart; three children, Pinke, Allen, and Miles; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Collierville. Memorials may be sent to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
