LITTLETON — Vera L. Ware, 84, of Littleton, died Friday, Feb. 14, in the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, where she had resided for the past 1 years.
Her husband of 62 years, William R. Ware, died in September. She leaves three daughters, Sylvia Montrone of Clarks Green, Pa., Cheryl A. Anderson of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Barbara Ware of Gilsum, N.H.; two sons, Robert Ware of East Burke, Vt., and Stephen Ware of Bolton; a brother, Earle Gabrielsen of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A brother, John S. Gabrielsen, predeceased her. She was born in Harvard, Ole G. and Bessie R. (Crandell) Gabrielsen, and lived in Harvard for 21 years before living in Bolton for 30 years. She graduated from Bromfield Academy in Harvard in 1938, and attended Brooksville Community College in Brooksville, Fla.
Mrs. Ware was a homemaker. She also worked as cafeteria manager at the Emerson School, and was a cafeteria worker at the Nashoba Regional High School, both in Bolton. She also worked at Fruitlands Museum Tea Room, Perkins School and Whitney Homestead. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, New England Club, Legion Auxiliary, Bolton Grange, Young Republicans Club, Bolton Fair Committee, and a Leader with the 4-H Club. Her hobbies included knitting, needlework, crafts, cooking, painting and sketching.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley Activity Fund, 191 Foster St., Littleton, MA 01460. National Cremation Service, 86 Copeland St., Quincy, is directing arrangements.
