MAURICE LEON WARE, 78, of Memphis, retired employee of the Corps of Engineers, died of heart disease Friday at St. Francis Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, a World War II veteran, and a member of Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Mr. Ware, the husband of Ruby J. Ware, also leaves a daughter, Jane Stehle of Bartlett; a son, Larry Ware of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Olive Moore of Huntingdon, Tenn., and three grandchildren. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the building program at Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett.

This is my grandfather. I was wondering what other information you have on his family tree. He had an interesting story of getting wounded in WWII. He also told me about his grandfather’s service in the American Civil War at the Battle of Shiloh. His grandfather was John Calvin Ware. Would love to know more about that.
