Robert L. Ware retired from Heil Manufacturing Co. in Avon, where he was an engineer and plant manager.
Mr. Ware pursued hobbies that required special skills. He was a licensed pilot, a ham radio operator and amateur photographer, woodworker and metal worker.
Mr. Ware, 80, of Elyria, died Tuesday at EMH Regional Medical Center.
The Cleveland native graduated from John Marshall High School. He had lived in Elyria since 1980.
During World War II, Mr. Ware served in the Army in the Asiatic-Pacific theater and attained the rank of master sergeant.
Mr. Ware is survived by his wife of 20 years, Agnes Mae “Beverly”; son, Ronald of Fairview Park; stepson, Donald E. Smith of Elyria; and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow a Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 162 Irondale St., Elyria, where Mr. Ware was a member.
Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home in Elyria is in charge of arrangements.
