Danny Lee Ware, 65, of Holland, Michigan, formerly of Midland, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2017. Dan was the son of Ernie and Peg Ware and grew up in Midland where he graduated from MHS in 1971. He was active in sports all his life and loved, and was especially proud, of watching his son play football and his daughters playing volleyball. He was always the “armchair” coach for the Detroit Lions and maybe it would have been good, at times, if they could have heard his “play calling!”
Dan will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jamie (Scott Wargo) Ware and grandchildren, Blake and Danika of Freeland and his son, Dan (Angela) Ware and granddaughter, Alayna, of Midland, and his daughters, Alissa (Derek) Vanderploeg and Krista Ware of Holland; his sister, Holly (Ed) Hallberg, and his brother, Hal (Diana) Ware, and a niece and nephew; a special aunt, Elaine Hooghuis and her family, all of Midland. He is also survived by his former wives, and loving mothers to their children, Karen (Ross) Brousseau, and Astra (Skostins) Ware, and by cousins in Bear Lake. He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents, Charles and Louise Ware and Fred and Tillie Wareham.
Dan had a passion for nature, hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cottage in Bear Lake, Michigan. It was there that he went to hunt and fish with his Dad, brother, son and daughters and just to spend some quiet time making memories and enjoying time with his family.
Because Bear Lake was such a special place for him, the family is planning to gather there at a later date to celebrate Dan’s life. He is gone from our sight, but not from our memory and will always have a place in our hearts.
