MARGERY ELLA (WARE) VANMETER passed away after an extended illness at the Wyngate Assisted Living Inn in Barboursville on Friday, January 19. She was born October 28, 1923 in Pike Co., Ohio to parents Harry Homer Ware and Iva Belle Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas “Jack” VanMeter in 1990 and her son, Gregory, in 1982. Her siblings, Audrey (infant), Kenneth, Hallie, Chalmer, and Bonnie Ware also predeceased her. She was a retired Ohio elementary school teacher. She spent most of her adult life in either Pike or Ross Co., Ohio before moving to West Virginia to be near her daughter, Gretchen (VanMeter) Oley, in 2001. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Stephen Oley, who now live in Hilton Head, S.C. Survivors also include her grandson, Kevin Oley, of Huntington, a granddaughter and her husband, Allison (Oley) and Doug Haden, and her treasured great-granddaughters, Natalie and Lauren Haden, all of Charlotte, N.C.
