LOUISVILLE — Marjorie Louise Peters Ware, 92, of Louisville returned to her beloved Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital surrounded by her family. “Marge” is remembered by all who were privileged to know her as a devout woman of faith and impeccable loyalty to those she cherished. She led an amazing life, always full of joy and looking for a new adventure. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, with dear friends of all generations. One of her many gifts was her beautiful cursive script and the hand-written letters which maintained long-term friendships. Another of her considerable gifts was a beautiful soprano voice and a love of gospel music which in her earlier years provided support to her father’s ministry.
Marge was born in Owensboro to the late Rev. C.E. Peters and Helen Elaine Patrick Peters. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hilton “Short” Ware in 2002; and a sister, Betty Peters Buchanan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dr. J. Patrick Ware of Atlanta; daughter Sharon Ware of Louisville; beloved friend and caregiver Donna Gish; a brother, Dr. C. Kenneth Peters (Rhoda Anne); grandchildren the Rev. Patrick Ware (Jordan) of Winchester, Virginia, and Jennifer Ware Erdoes (Kenny) of Des Moines, Iowa; and five great-grandchildren, Emma Erdoes, Jake Erdoes, Nathan Erdoes, Max Ware and Glennes Ware.
Her family is grateful to her dear friends, Dotty Bacon, Leslie Biller, Shirley Cannan, Kay Hart and Karen Aubrey for their steadfast friendship and support these last few years.
The service is 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro with the Rev. Bob Howell officiating. Entombment follows at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
