Sue Adeline Ware Harvey, 89, a resident of Colorado Springs died February 23, 2017.
Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on September 5, 1927, Adeline received her Bachelors in Radio from Baylor University. She returned to the Santa Fe area where she obtained her Teaching Certificate from Highlands University. She was involved in early childhood education, the Espanola Garden Club and the Santa Fe Opera.
She later received her Masters of Education from New Mexico State University in 1972 and moved to Austin, Texas where she had a successful career with the Austin Independent School District until she retired. In 1988 Adeline married John C. Harvey. They enjoyed 28 years together visiting grandchildren and traveling the world.
Adeline is survived by her daughters Catherine Barbo (Jim Newell), Caroline Barbo-Pepper (Philip Pepper), grandchildren Jennifer (Eric) Dugan, Mykel (Michael) Sapienza, Geoffrey (Devon) Whittington and two great granddaughters Emmalynn and Sophia Dugan. Stepchildren James (Kathleen) Harvey, Mary (Mark) Alberts, Anne (Andy) Capps, six step grandchildren and one step great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents RV and Addie Ware and her husband John.
A graveside service will be at the family cemetery in Salado, Texas on March 4, 2017.
