Janet Rose Ware, 82, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Shawnee.

She was born September 8, 1936 to Crandell and Jewel (Lunsford) Robertson in Carternine, Oklahoma.

Janet grew up in Maud, Oklahoma and was a graduate of Maud High School. She attended college at E.C.U. in Ada and O.U. in Norman earning her several degrees including her Master’s degree. Janet lived most of her adult life in Shawnee.

She married John Preston Ware in the 1970’s and he preceded her in death in 1983.

Janet worked for D.H.S. and Hope House in social services.

She enjoyed taking care of her home, playing the piano, writing poetry and was a member of the International Poetry Society; she especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and her pups. Janet had numerous friends and was loved by many people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Preston Ware; and her parents, Crandell and Jewel Robertson.

Those left to cherish her memory are 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law, Don and Nancy Plumley of Shawnee, OK; 2 brothers, Stanley Robertson of Broken Arrow, OK and Vaughn Robertson of Sevierville, TN; 1 sister, Sherry Cowan of Seminole, OK; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; numerous, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Vaughn Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
