BROOKWOOD – Vera Mae Ware, age 89, of Brookwood, Ala, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, May 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Graveside services and burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel is directing.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, W.D. and Augusta Sellers; a granddaughter, Wendy Kizziah; grandsons, Cory Chapman and Bobby Goodwin.
She is survived by her son, Joe Williamson; daughters, Shelia Lewis, Bonnie Goodwin, Anda Robbins (Warren) and Judy Chapman; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Vera was a lifelong resident of Brookwood, Ala. She was a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. She loved playing cards, flowers, the color purple and Alabama football. Vera enjoyed her trips to the beach.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Goodwin, Joey Williamson, Scott Lewis, Phillip Deerman, J.R. Holley and Shane Kimbrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Prickett, Dr. Praveen Jetty, Dr. Stephen Ikard, Dr. Rick Player, and Dr. Lisa Larson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Vera M. Ware.
