Pastor Carrie L. Ware-Darden Obituary, 2013

LaGRANGE – Pastor Carrie L. Ware-Darden of LaGrange died Monday, July 1, 2013, at her home. A native of Franklin, Pastor Darden was born March 31, 1941, and was the daughter of the late the Rev. Robert and Caroline Ware. She was a 1959 graduate and valedictorian of Mary Johnson High School. Carrie was employed with Answering Atlanta, Seimens Electrical and LaGrange Child Development Center. She joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Franklin at an early age. In 1996, First Zion World Church of Faith relocated to LaGrange. Carrie served in many capacities, including pastor. She leaves to cherish many fond and precious memories, her husband, Bishop Robert L. Darden of LaGrange; one daughter, Gwenita LaVette Ware of LaGrange; her mother-in-law, Sarah Darden of LaGrange; two brothers, Pastor James R. Ware of LaGrange and John (Pauline) Ware of Decatur, Ga.; two sisters, Dovie Philpot of Franklin and Fannie (W.C.) Crump of Atlanta; six brothers-in-law, George (Teresa) Morgan of College Park, Ga., Jimmy (Emma) Morgan of Chicago, Ill., Robert (Ann) Gates of Knoxville, Tenn., George (Teresa) Gates, Willie (Tonya) Gates and Matt Gates, all of Valley; six sisters-in-law, Mary Nell Washington of Lanett, Elaine Kellem of LaGrange, Betty Ware of Franklin, Louise (Sam) Bryant of Valley and Doris (Curtis) Evans and Willie Mae Booker, both of Lanett; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Lee, and a sister, Mary Jean. The celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Franklin with the Revs. Michael Ware and Travis Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will be at their home and will receive friends at Springfield Baptist Church on Ringer Street on Friday evening from 7 until 8.
