Nancy R. Ware

Nancy R. Ware of Easton died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at Candle Light Cove in Easton. She was 83. Born Jan. 26, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William DuBois Russell and Hedwig Buek Russell. After graduating from Springfield High School in 1942, she attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va., where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1946. She taught at Easton High School from 1946 to 1949. In 1948, she married Cameron Hopkins and worked with him at Hopkins Sales in Easton. Mr. Hopkins died in 1975. In 1984, she married Robert S. Ware. Mr. Ware died in 1991. Early in her life with Cameron, she enjoyed golf and was a long time member of the Talbot Country Club. Nancy enjoyed reading, and was an avid bridge player. She was a former member of the Memorial Hospital Jr. Auxiliary and was member of the Union Dorcus Society since 1982. Mrs. Ware was known for her keen wit and sense of humor, which stayed with her even during her illness. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William D. Russell Jr.; and her sister, Barbara R. Warrington. She is survived by three nephews, William D. Russell III and wife, Marilyn, Richard W. Russell and wife, Susan, and W. Russell Warrington and wife, Carol; three nieces, Marilyn R. Seigman and husband, Richard, Marie Hill and husband, King, and Barbara Jo Jones and husband, Carson; a stepson, Robert S. Ware and wife, Kathy; and sister-in-law, Esther L. Russell. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home P.A. in Easton.
