Francis Morgan Ware (1858 – )

“WARE, Francis Morgan;  Horseman and author.  Since 1890 regular Judge at all horse shows in America; pres of Delta Kappa Epsilon at Harvard; Hasty Pudding Club; Harvard treas., mgr, and dir. of Am Horse Exchange, Ltd., New York.

Born Feb. 3, 1858 at Cambridge, Mass, son of Rev. John Fothergill Waterhouse and Helen Ware Rice , Ware.

Received A.B. at Harvard in 1879.  From 1883-87 was sec for Henry Astor Carey, Newport; from 1889-91 manager for different racing stables; later undertook newspaper work ; horse dealing from 1891-94.

Author, ‘First Hand Bits of Stable Lore’, 1901; ‘ Our Noblest Friend the House’ 1901; ‘Driving’ 1903.  Regular contributor prose and verse to all sporting pubs.
