“Edmund Jasper Ware, grandson of pioneer Edmund Ware who came to Todd County in 1827, was born Feb. 26, 1870 the son of Charles W. Ware and Elizabeth Virginia Garth. He grew up on the family farm along with his two brothers: William Merriweather Ware and Charles Walter Ware, and his two sisters: Charlie B. Ware (Walton) and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Virginia Ware (Vaught). He married Allie Grant Rogers on May 15, 1893 in Guthrie, KY. Allie Rogers was the daughter of Alexander Franklin Rogers (who was originally from Lancaster County, SC) and Tennessee Virginia Grant (whose ancestors were from Virginia), she was born June 8, 1870 in Guthrie, KY…
Edmund Jasper Ware and Allie Grant Rogers had four children; Edmund Rogers Ware, William Franklin Ware, Elizabeth Virginia Ware and Bessie Rogers Ware (Schield). They lived in Trenton for over 30 years on the family farm. In later years they moved to Nashville, TN to live with their daughter.
Edmund Jasper Ware passed away Oct. 23, 1955 of a heart attack and Allie Rogers Ware passed away April 5, 1951. They are buried in Trenton’s Edgewood Cemetery.”
