Elijah Ware was born March 25th, 1850 in Missouri and died May 8th, 1884 in Woodbine, Cooke County, Texas. Elijah was the son of John W. Ware and Nancy Altum. He married Mary Frances Gibson on Dec. 1st 1870.  She was born March 13th, 1853 and died April 10th, 1879. (The had 4 children: Lucy, Melissa, Henry and James.  Descending generations can be viewed on  this site.)

Elijah married Sarah (Sallie) M. Leonard of June  30th, 1881 and they had one daughter, Blanche.  Little is known of Blanche Ware except she married a man named Barton.

Elijah Ware bought the Woodbine Store from W.H. Mitchell in 1881.  Mr. Mitchell then built a new store on the West side of the road through town…

Elijah is buries at Oak Grove Cemetery, Woodbine, Cooke County, Texas.
