John Ware (1836)

“Busts Of Dr. John Ware. — There has recently been presented to the President and Fellows of Harvard College and placed in the Warren Museum, at the Harvard Medical School, a marble bust of Dr. John Ware, who from 1836 to 1858 was Hersey professor of the theory and practice of physic in the school. The plaster model of this bust has also been presented to the Boston Medical Library and placed in John Ware Hall. Dr. Ware was a founder and one of the original board of three editors of the Journal. He was also a founder of the Boston Society for Medical Improvement and president of The Massachusetts Medical Society. The bust is the work of Mr. Bela Pratt, of this city.”
