Born at Philadelphia, Pa., March 7, 1892.

Years in College: 1909-11.

LEFT Harvard in September, 1911, and went to Hobart College, Geneva, N. Y., at once and finished up in February, 1914. Started in summer school of Yale Forest School, finished in June, 1916, with M.F. degree. Got job with Turkey Foot Lumber Company at Cressmont, Ky., in July, 1916, but it didn’t shine up very bright, so I quit that in September, 1916, and went into the asphalt department of the Atlantic Refining Company of Philadelphia. I began on the road January 1, 1917, being the sole representative of the asphalt department in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Prospects are good and I’m not complaining, although I regret that the openings in forestry were so limited.”
