”Peter Clark, Free Baptist, son of Samuel and Mary (Folsom) Clark, was born Oct. 8, 1781. Began to preach in Gilmanton, 1798. Ordained Jan. 8, 1810, and pastor Third Church, 1810-65. Represented Gilmanton in the Legislature, 1826-9. Baptized about 300; solemnized about 200 marriages; and officiated at nearly 900 funerals. Died, Upper Gilmanton, Nov. 25, 1865.

Married (1) Mary, daughter of William Morrison, Nov. 28, 1805. She died, Gilmanton, Sept. 25, 1841. (2) Mrs. Abigail E. Ware, 1849. She survived him.”
