”ORGANIZATION.
We invite others, not members of the Society for Ethical Culture, who agree with us in the principles above enunciated, to join us as Associate Members—they to have all the rights of members save that of voting.
Additions or amendments may be made to the above principles by a two-thirds vote of the members of the Section at any regular monthly meeting of the Section between October and May, provided that notice of the proposed addition or amendment has been given at the preceding monthly meeting, and that a copy of the same has been mailed to each member one week in advance.
Action coming within the scope of the above principles may be taken by a majority vote at any regular monthly meeting of the Section from October to May—or at a special meeting between those dates, called for the purpose of considering the same, three days’ notice having been mailed to the members.
This Section does not assume to speak for the Ethical Society, but its members in forming it act as members of the Society and not merely as private individuals. In their view it is within the rights of members of an Ethical Society to act as such in forming a Section of this kind, though they do not deny that other members may have equal right to form another Section with a different set of principles.
Jacob Lychenheim, Chairman,
Mrs. Ella Reeve Ware, Secretary, Colwyn, Pa.
William M. Salter.”
