“LAST RITES FOR SALLIE POLLAN SATURDAY
Funeral services for Sallie M. Pollan, 83, were held Saturday afternoon at the
Robertson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. James Pitts of Stites officiating.
Hymns were sung by Mrs. Howard Frieze with Mrs. Vance at the organ. Pallbearers were George Wikoff, George Willey, O. R. Kent, James Steinback, Howard Freize and Earl Depew. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.
Mrs. Pollan was born August 9, 1869 in South West City, Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ware. She married Joseph Pollan there in 1880 and after two years they moved to Oklahoma where they resided for 18 years. They came to Idaho in 1913 locating on a farm near Grangeville. About 20 years ago they moved to town where she had since made her home. Mr. Pollan passed away in 1946. Mrs. Pollan passed away Wednesday evening August 6, at her home from infirmities of age. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Grover of Shafter, Ca., Alvis and Frank of Grangeville; four daughters, Mrs. Lela Schroeder of Olympia, Wa., Mrs. Ada Schenck and Mrs. Bessie Hutchens of Grangeville, and Mrs. Mamie Potter of Olympia. One brother, James Ware of California; 26 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.”
