“DRAIN — A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Drain Church of Christ for Barbara Jean Ware of Drain, who died May 4 of congestive heart failure. She was 88.

She was born April 26, 1923, in Westwood, Calif., to Cheslia and Leona Bradley Parker. She married Douglas Blakeman in March 1941 in San Jose, Calif. They later divorced. She married Altin Ware on Jan. 20, 1973, in Los Gatos, Calif.

She graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell, Calif., and attended San Jose State College. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, David Blakeman of El Cerrito, Calif., William Blakeman of Pasco, Wash., and Donald Blakeman of Phoeniz, Ariz.; two daughters, Kathleen Meyers of La Combe, La., and Carol Cassle of San Andreas, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Mae Markham of Drain; a brother, William Parker of Orange, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Comstock Cemetery in Curtin. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove, In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Drain Church of Christ building fund.”
