“Shreveport, LA – Margaret Adele Ferguson Ware passed away on August 2, 2008 following a protracted, yet courageous battle with cancer. Visitation was held at OSBORN FUNERAL HOME on Monday, August 4, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral and Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Osborn Funeral Home with the Reverends James A. Van Hook, Jr. and Ken Irby of Broadmoor United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed the service at Forest Park West Cemetery. Adele was born in Ocala, Florida on September 11, 1938 to Elizabeth Batey Ferguson and Malcolm McAskill Ferguson. She completed her degree in nursing from Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Adele lived most of her adult life living in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she took great joy in raising her family and building and maintaining life long friendships. She was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church and enjoyed her Sunday School class and all its members, The Covenant Tigers. She was a member of the Junior League of Shreveport and the Shreveport Medical Auxiliary. Adele is preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm and Elizabeth Ferguson, her brother, Charleton Ferguson and her beloved daughter, Paula Denise Ware. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm and Patty Ferguson of Ocala, FL, her sister, May Ferguson of Hayesville, NC, her children, Paul Dean Ware, Jr. and his partner D. Paul Babin of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Dana Ware Hornby and her husband, Michael Hornby of Knoxville, TN, Danelle Y. Ware of Shreveport, LA, and P. Derek Ware and his wife, Alisha Ware of Shreveport. She also is survived by her precious grandchildren, David, Daniel and Adam Hornby of Knoxville, TN and Allison, Cecilia Catherine and Mac Ware of Shreveport, LA. Further, she is survived by her nieces and nephews including: Michael and Lisa Gilmer of Knoxville, TN, Gary and Kelli Ferguson of Columbus, GA, Sara and Dean Thames of Atlanta, GA, John and Dana Burch DeFuniak Springs, FL and Betsy and John Ed Montgomery of Rocky Mount, VA. In addition, Adele leaves behind her dearest friend Doll Moore, of Shreveport, LA and many extraordinary friends. Adele and her family wanted to extend their sincere gratitude to all of the caretakers at Feist Weiller Cancer Center, especially to Dr. Gary Von Burton. Also, the family would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Shreveport/Bossier.
