“Charles E. “Buddy” Ware
Born in Jefferson County, West Virginia on March 9, 1942. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Preceded in death by his Father, Joseph A. Ware, Sr., Mother, Mildred W. Ware, Father in Law, James E. Watson, Jr., Mother in Law, Emma D. Watson, Brother in Law, Erroll J. Leslie.
He was a devoted Husband and Father, survived by his Loving Wife of 49 years, Sarah W. Ware, eight children, Catherine Mayle and husband Tim of Fairmont, WV, Mildred House and husband Rick of Pikeside, son, Matthew of Martinsburg, son, Wesley and wife Jessica of Charles Town, daughter, Elizabeth Ruffner and husband Larry of Middleway, son, Nathan of Charles Town, daughter, Marika Milburn and husband Wesley of Martinsburg, son, Stewart of Martinsburg, sister, Eileen Leslie of Charles Town, brother, Joseph A. Ware, Jr. and wife Heidi of Charles Town, sister in law, Mary Miller and husband Donnie of Ranson, Brother in law, James E. Watson, III and wife Barbara of Ranson, 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He loved farming having farmed his entire adult life in Jefferson Co., WV. He also worked as a Public Auction Clerk in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties for more than 35 years. He raised Quality Shorthorn Cattle continuously since 1956.
He enjoyed working with John Deere 2 Cylinder Tractors and was an avid sports fan especially baseball. He was a member of the Jefferson Co. Fair since its very beginning in 1953 and was instrumental In the planning and building of the new fairgrounds on Leetown Pike, serving as a board member for many years. He was a member of Jefferson Co. Board of Health, Jefferson County Republican Committee. He served as a 4-H Leader for many years. Member of the Jefferson Co. Farm Bureau and was President for 3 years, Honorary Chapter Farmer of Jefferson High FFA. In 1983 was awarded 4-H Family of the Year.
Services will be held at Charles Town Baptist Church, 203 E. Congress St., Charles Town, WV on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Jay Watson and Oscar Burkhart officiating.
Interment will be in the Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, WV.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, WV.
Memorial Contributions may be made to FFA Chapter of One’s Choice.”
