George Plank Ware (1862 – 1921)

“Husband of Henrietta T. (Lee) Ware and Son of Mary Ann (Ewan) and George A. Ware. Henrietta and George were married on Christmas Eve, 24 Dec 1884 in Clayton, Gloucester County, New Jersey.

In 1920 George is a widow according to the New Jersey Federal Census and his brother Jacob is living with him in Downer in Monroe Township, Gloucester County. George was a Farmer.

George died without a Will and an Inventory on his estate was done on 7 May 1921 and Filed on 13 May 1921. His Inventory was worth $1013.16.

George died by committing suicide, on the day that he was to get remarried in layed down over the Reading Railroad tracks and a train ran over him. He was interred in Downer Methodist Church Cemetery, Gloucester County, New Jersey on 19 Apr 1921. George was 59 years, 2 months and 10 days old. Jacob Ware, his brother, was the Informant on his Death Certificate.

‘Deceased, also of Robanna Station, was killed instantly last Saturday when he threw himself in front of the Glassboro train while in a state of derangement. He was to have been married on the day of his death. He was a prominent member of the Williamstown Grange, a member of the Red Men Lodge and a Methodist.’ ”
